A Little Thought

Processed with Snapseed. My blog is sad, I barely write on her anymore and almost every day I have thought to myself I am going to blog today .. and then have not…

There’s not a day that goes by that I don’t feel immensely grateful for my life but sometimes I literally feel guilty about my own blessings, especially with all the mess that is going on in our world right now. I am surrounded by war zones where civilian homes and schools are targeted by airstrikes. What is worse, extreme poverty and famine are spreading in the region and despite all the remarkable achievements by NGOs, one in five people  still lives on less than $1.25 a day. Whenever I watch the news, I get sick of all the barbaric attacks and what really breaks my heart that all of their casualties are unarmed civilians. I am like who said that we are in the 21st century, it feels like we lost our way to civilization long time ago.

A wise person told me once “if you decide not to be happy until all the sufferings are wiped out from the world, you will never be happy. There will always be happiness and sadness in our world and both are transient. So, seize the moment and be happy”

Do you ever feel guilty for being happy and creating a life you love when you know that so many other people out there are suffering?

Dear Me!

I have been born and raised in a society full of challenges, and I learn over time to love these challenges and to cope with them in a very healthy productive way.

I was born and raised in a desert country filled with many wonders. Trees grow out of rocks. Frogs come out of the sands in a cloudburst. I always think that there’s a reason why the old prophets went to the desert and not the jungle. There is no static in the scenery so, the eyes can rest and therefore, the heart. These wonders brought out the best in me and taught me so many lessons, taught me to take control of what I have power over instead of craving control over what I don’t, to be brave enough to create my own way of life and turn a deaf ear to a very judgmental society.

In this International Women’s Day, I’m thankful to be a woman,  and to have the love and support from my family  who taught me that women are not less significant than men when it comes to future.

I have been guided with one of the most profound sayings that I have ever come across that I made it a personal motto.  Clare Boothe Luce, the renowned US play wright, journalist and later a congresswoman, once said “If I fail, no one will say, ‘She doesn’t have what it takes’; they will say, Women don’t have what it takes“. Because I am a woman, I must take unusual effort to succeed.

My heart and prays will always be with those less privileged sisters out there who are struggling to make a living.

Happy Women’s Day to you all

P.S. Dear Mom, you will always and forever be the first successful, brave and unique woman I have ever known, loved and admired.

Nothing to Worry About

IMG_3566

I just realized the fact that worry can eat up my life , it can consume me if I allow it to as today I spent too much time thinking about different things that have yet to happen. I allowed myself to worry about all sorts of of problems, I played each scenario over and over in my head like a continuos CD. It was an unproductive day at all and one of the tough situations life has put me in. So, I grabbed a pen and paper and started to write about all the gloomy nasty things floating up in my head.  I write and write and write till I managed to turn off the negative thought channel in my head.

An important lesson was learned today, I master that no matter how things are bad, there is always a light at the end of tunnel and all I need is more faith to find it, to use my inner compass to direct my way into the world and to trust what God has in store for me.

Despite all that I feel appreciative of going through this today, it helps me to better understand my self, and become more aware of who I am and how I react when life throws me a curveball.

Keep Calm

Stay Positive
